Katy Perry on the July 2009 cover of Seventeen magazine.

On her worst job she ever had: “I worked at this place called Taxi, Taxi Music, where I would sit with headphones and a computer, and I would listen to music that people would send in from all around the country so they could get a critique on it and how to make it in the music industry. So you have to imagine how depressed I was after not making it in LA after five years, knowing everyone in the music industry couldn’t get a break, and sitting in this cubicle, listening to the worst music I’ve ever heard. I would tell these people ‘Well you have to change these chords’ or ‘This is how you contact a record label.’ And I was just like, I cannot give these people hope. I had no hope [myself.]”

Holy crow, It’s already time for the voting for March’s Star of The Month! Where did the time go! Anyway, pretty decent range of people in here. Try to be…open minded and not vote for the typical person everyone chooses. I mean I love Miley and everyone else but try to give other people a chance yeah 😛

Only weeks ago were their rumors that ‘I kissed a girl’ singer Katy Perry and Gym Class Heroes frontman, Travis McCoy had gotten engaged but it seems that wasn’t the case. A source told US Magazine, “It’s sad, but they were fighting a lot because they never saw each other and now she is going on tour. She just needed a clear head. It’s been non-stop work for her.”

On New Years Eve Travis posted on his blog a new song that seems to explain the reason for the split.

Shine On Media held their 1st Annual Shining Star Awards this year to honor the people who ‘ruled’ in 2008.

A lot of our favorite stars were winners or honorable mention. I figured I would post where our favorites placed here.  Remember I am posting where our favorite stars placed. So don’t point out that there are numbers missing. That just means none of our favorites placed there. Okay?

2. David Archuleta

3. Tokio Hotel

4. Jonas Brothers

Honorable Mention: 7. Demi Lovato, 8. Taylor Swift, 9. Miley Cyrus

That’s right! Katy Perry is giving all of her fans the chance to send in a video and it may be aired during her performance during the Grammys!

Katy is up for Best Female Pop Vocal, and she will sing along with the chosen fan videos to her hit song ‘I Kissed A Girl’.

So what do you need to do? Go to cbs.com/grammys and upload a video of yourself singing ‘I Kissed A Girl’. The video can only be 30-60 seconds long and must be submitted before midnight on February 6th, 2009.

We’ve seen the lists of the best albums of 2008 – but what do the singers like?

“We’re all big fans of Coldplay, and their Viva la Vida is a great record. We got to meet Chris Martin recently, and it was amazing. Also, Adele. She’s nominated for a Grammy against us, but she’s incredible too.”Nick Jonas told MTV. Didn’t Adele recently slam them by saying they weren’t virgins?

Katy Perry couldn’t pick just one, two or three but four different albums she enjoyed, “My favorite album of 2008 would have to be Estelle‘s Shine. She’s one of my favorite artists. Yelle is probably my favorite artist this year. She’s French, and it’s kind of a bit avant-garde, but it’s fun. I loved the Lenka album too. Oh, and the John Legend album! Oh, so good! My favorite song of this year … I like that ‘Come Over’ song Estelle did with Sean Paul.”

Lead singer of Paramore; Hayley Williams revealed a song that’s close to her heart. “There was a song on the new H20 record, called Nothing to Prove, and the song is called ‘Disconnected’ — though that might just be the chorus [Editor’s note: The song is called ‘Static’] — and it really got me through a lot of hard times and gave me energy and confidence. I love that song, and I love that whole record.” While fellow band member Jeremy Davis shared one of his favorites “My favorite was The Alchemy Index by Thrice. They came out with basically four different EPs, and they’re all amazing. Some of my favorite records of all time, to be honest.”

Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes is outraged by the Jonas Brothers‘ Grammy Nomination telling PopEater, “I think the Best New Artist thing was definitely a fluke and a f— up on the Grammys’ behalf, We got the Jonas Brothers being nominated for Best New Artist and they’re on their third record. So I’m like, ‘How the f— does that even make sense?'”

But he was quick to stop himself to avoid and Jonas fan attack, “No disrespect to them, but it’s like if you’re gonna give a Grammy to a Best New Artist, why don’t you nominate new artists?”

He risked a crazed attack just to defend his girlfriend, Katy Perry, now that’s love 😛
