Disney Channel will begin production later this summer on “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam,” the sequel to the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock,” with Demi Lovato, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas reprising their starring roles. Joining the cast are Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges. Also returning to the sequel’s cast are Meaghan Martin, Alyson Stoner, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Roshon Fegan, Daniel Fathers and Maria Canals-Barrera. “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam” is scheduled to premiere in 2010 on Disney Channel.

The sequel’s storyline follows Mitchie, Shane, Jason, Nate and their friends as they return to Camp Rock for another great summer of music and fun. However they soon learn that a new state-of-the-art music/performance camp, Camp Star, has opened across the lake and has lured away many of Camp Rock instructors and campers — putting the future of Camp Rock in jeopardy.
And when Camp Star’s hotshot performer, Luke Williams, challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown to see which camp really has the stronger musical talent, everyone prepares for the ultimate battle of the bands. Meanwhile, in a classic “Romeo and Juliet” twist, Nate falls for the daughter of the owner of the rival camp.

First the Jonas‘ spoke about being on the soundtrack to New Moon. Now, confessed Twilight fanatic, Demi Lovato has also expressed her interest to MTV, on being on the soundtrack to the sequel to the biggest movie of our generation.

Would you like to see Demi and/or the Jonas Brothers on the soundtrack?

Demi also mentioned the sound of her second album, saying, “We just started working on the first few songs this week,” she said. “It’s kind of changing from rock to more soulful and has more bluesy songs, but at the same time it will have rock, but more myself.”

She also spoke about the Camp Rock sequel “I haven’t seen the script yet,” She explains to MTV. “I know just as much as you do, and I don’t even know when I’m filming it other than this fall.”

Although the Jonas Brothers confirmed that there will be a Camp Rock sequel during their live chat on Sunday, Demi Lovato was asked by MTV at the Post Pre-Inaugural Ball if this was true. “We’re going to be shooting it at the end of the next year. Actually this year, woo! So, we’ll be shooting it late 2009 and hopefully I’ll be shooting it after I do a tour.” She gushed excitedly.

Rumor has it, Frankie Jonas will also be joining Demi and his big brothers on set.

Demi also told MTV about performing at the Kids Inauguration, “Honestly, it was a blur, because it was like, I’m standing in the presence of the first lady, but then you kind of forgot about it because she’s so normal.”

“And she’s like way down to earth. She gave me a hug, and her daughters were so sweet, and you could tell they are not fazed by anything.” She continued to dish about the first family.
